Principal's Message

Dear Westlake Families,
On behalf of all of the faculty and staff and Glenn Westlake Middle School, I welcome you to the 2021-2022 school year.  I would be remiss to say that all of us are sad that on August 24, the halls at GWMS will not be filled with our almost 1200 students.  However, I cannot begin to tell you the excitement that the 2021-2022 school year brings.
This year more than any other we will be focusing on "Connection" at GWMS.  We strive to provide opportunities for students to form a personal connection with their teachers and the school regardless if they will be taking advantage of in person or remote learning.  A parent/guardian's role in this connection to school is such an important piece that we really value at GWMS and Lombard 44.  Throughout this school year, we will undoubtedly face a variety of challenges that no one has even begun to have thought of, but it is my firm belief that the partnership that we form together will allow all students to reach milestones we never dreamed of.
Please know that all staff are here to help you and your student in any way possible.  I encourage you to reach out to your student's teachers and begin to connect right away.  We are all here to help in any way we can.  Our school and district truly embrace our motto of "We are all in this together."  There is no doubt in my mind that TOGETHER this school year is destined to be great!
