Principal's Message

On behalf of the entire leadership team, I would like to welcome everyone to Glenn Westlake!

As the only middle school in District 44, we are proud to be the final destination for all of our students before they take the next step on their life’s journey. At Westlake, we are committed to providing the best possible academic, social, co-curricular, and extra-curricular opportunities for all students. Although we have roughly 1,000 students, we create smaller, more intimate environments through our “school within a school” philosophy by breaking all our grade levels into three different teams of roughly 100 students. This teaming concept allows us to focus more fully on our students’ academic, emotional, and social needs.

One of our main initiatives is creating meaningful connections with one another as well as other schools in the district.  We are always looking for innovative and authentic educational opportunities that connect our students to the larger Lombard community. Additionally, we are committed to celebrating and showcasing all the good things our students and staff do daily. In fact, every Friday, you will see highlights from the week in our Wildcat Weekly newsletter, which is just another way for us to create meaningful connections with all our families.

Our leadership team welcomes constructive feedback in order to provide the best possible experiences for all our District 44 families, so please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions or ideas. I know how proud this community is of its schools, and I want to continue to partner with you as we work to provide your children opportunities worthy of that pride!
